Cristina Nitopi brought her men's line and it is certain to give a new meaning to "putting on your leathers". Red, brown, and even white suits with long coats and vests made a MOD departure from your run of the mill black biker image leather wear.
Nitopi, an Australian designer, said she draws inspiration from music, meditation and nature. Her use of electrifying colors for her satin gown collection will definitely be a "must-have" for Spring 2009, which promises to pay homage to the neon style of the eighties.
Designer Laurie Elyse previewed her grunge glam swimsuit collection for '09. She effectively mixes lace spandex, visqueen and new cuts to add pizzazz to her beachwear. Her self proclaimed "rock & roll design company" is based in Washington, DC and specialized in both wearable designs and furniture.
Her use of lace to create a spider web effect on swimsuit bottoms and checkered visqueen skirt cover will no doubt make a splash with the rock fashion circle. Her designs are carried in music stores throughout the U.S.
